Tackling Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia

IDC North East Held Ground Breaking Conference on Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia!

In recent years, we have seen a rise in anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic attacks which have led to several convictions. It is essential that Muslims, Jews, people of all faiths and none stand up and proactively challenge such behaviour. IDC North East believe the most effective way to do this is through education and engagement.

IDC arranged for a panel of distinguished speakers to speak on the topic, explore possible solutions and answer questions in what promises to be a truly ground breaking event. The panel of guest speakers includes:

  • Grace Dunn (Anne Frank Trust)
  • Laura Pidcock (Show Racism the Red Card)
  • Abdul  Basith (Imam of Newcastle Central Mosque)
  • Cllr Alyas Karmani (IDC Trustee)
  • Abdur Raheem Green (International Speaker)

The event took place on 21st May 2015, 6:00pm until 8:30pm at Club 206 Suite, St James’ Park Football Stadium,.
