Make A Child Smile…. Children Eid Hospital Visits 2014.

One of our favorite social initiatives is our Children Eid Hospital Visits. Our volunteers jump at the chance of getting involved and only the fortunate few get to visit the children wards on Eid.

This year was busier than ever as more hospitals heard about our Eid visits. Once again we bought and collected new toys, wrapped them up and got our own superheros to deliver them to the children. It is always worth it, when you see children who have been through a lot and are still in difficult circumstances smiling right back at you when you give them their present. The parents and staff on the ward also got gifts too!

As part of our Make a Child Smile Campaign IDC NORTHEAST team visited North Tees Hospital and The RVI in Newcastle today. Our Volunteers as always were dressed as superheroes and gifted toys to Children on the ward.

The Nurses at North Tees loved us so much they sent us the letter below:

I would just like to thank you to Sarah, Imran and all the “ super hero’s” who visited Children’s Ward at North Tees Hospital on Saturday 4th October.

It was lovely to learn a little of your Eid Celebration, and the gifts were really appreciated by patients and siblings who were on the ward. We have continued to give gifts to other children as they have been admitted. The staff also enjoyed the chocolates, and the happiness and laughter from the children during the visit. I look forward to you sending the Photographs that you have taken which I will share with my colleagues and the trust communication department.

Thanks again
